Washington, D.C. – LCV Victory Fund today unveiled a $567,000 digital ad campaign to ensure voters know that Reps. Pete Sessions (TX-32), Jason Lewis (MN-02) and Randy Hultgren (IL-14) have sided with practically every single one of Trump’s attacks on our environment and public health.

WATCH: “Bad Math”; “Toxic Votes” (TX-32, Pete Sessions)

WATCH: “Valuable” (MN-02, Jason Lewis)

WATCH: “Damage” (IL-14, Randy Hultgren)

All three incumbents earned a zero percent on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard in 2017. That means they have voted for nearly every single one of Congress’s 60 extreme attacks on our clean air, public lands and public health since Trump took office — with the lone exception of a single vote from Sessions in July.

“Pete Sessions, Jason Lewis and Randy Hultgren have voted against clean air, clean water, and protecting public lands practically every single time those issues have been brought before the House,” said Pete Maysmith, LCV Victory Fund Senior Vice President for Campaigns. “Voters need to know that their toxic agenda is harming families’ health.”

The ads will run on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and video streaming services like Hulu through Election Day. The campaign is part of LCV Victory Fund’s $15 million investment in retaking a pro-environment majority in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Sessions has a zero percent environmental voting record for 2017, and a two percent lifetime score. He’s taken nearly $1.3 million in campaign contributions from the polluting fossil fuel industry and voted to end protections for people with pre-existing conditions. More information on Sessions’ voting record and research backup for “Bad Math” is available here and “Toxic Votes” is available here.

Lewis, a member of the 2018 Dirty Dozen, has a dreadful zero percent lifetime environmental voting record. He is also a vocal climate change denier. More information on Lewis’ voting record and research backup for “Valuable” is available here.

Hultgren has a zero percent environmental voting record for 2017, and a five percent lifetime score. Despite joining the Climate Solutions Caucus, Hultgren has continued to vote anti-climate — most recently, he supported an extreme climate denial resolution, voted to prohibit the EPA from putting limits on methane pollution and voted to require the government to ignore the costs of climate change. More information on Hultgren’s voting record and research backup for “Damage” is available here.
