Washington D.C. – LCV Victory Fund congratulates Senator Tammy Baldwin on winning her re-election as Wisconsin’s U.S. Senator. Environmental donors contributed more than $450,000 directly to Baldwin’s campaign through GiveGreen.

“Tammy Baldwin is a crucial voice for clean air and water in the U.S. Senate,” said Gene Karpinski, LCV President. “Her record of standing up to corporate polluters and protecting public health has made Wisconsin proud, and that’s one of the reasons voters decided to keep her fighting in the Senate.”

Baldwin’s opponent, Leah Vukmir, was named to LCV Victory Fund’s notorious Dirty Dozen because of her record of prioritizing polluters over people.

LCV’s GreenRoots member mobilization program also turned out voters for Baldwin as part of a nationwide field program that engaged nearly 1,500 volunteers.

Environmental donors contributed over $1 million to state and federal candidates in Wisconsin, including almost $500,000 for Baldwin, via GiveGreen. GiveGreen — a partnership between LCV Victory Fund, NextGen America and the NRDC Action Fund PAC that helps grassroots donors directly contribute to pro-environment candidates — raised a record $21 million for the 2018 cycle.

LCV Action Fund endorsed Baldwin because of her dedication to protecting Wisconsin’s environment, particularly its waterways. LCV Action Fund also endorsed Randy Bryce to represent Wisconsin’s first congressional district.

Additionally, the Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters and related entities invested $1.5 million supporting Tony Evers for governor and a slate of state candidates.
