Atlanta, GA – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) announced a new $180,000 ad buy today in Georgia highlighting Senator Warnock’s support for clean energy and climate legislation that will lower costs for Georgia families. The ad launches as oil and gas companies and their allies in Congress are taking advantage of the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine to line their own pockets while Georgians shoulder the cost.

WATCH: Stop Them

“Big Oil’s allies are hurling false attacks at Senator Warnock because they know he’s right – investing in clean, renewable energy is the only real solution to high, unpredictable gas prices,” said Joann Saridakis, LCV Regional Campaigns Director. “Senator Warnock is delivering for Georgia families and we support his efforts to pass climate, jobs, and justice legislation that will lower energy costs and protect our national and climate security.”

“Senator Warnock has spent his entire life putting people first,” said Brionté McCorkle, Executive Director of Georgia Conservation Voters. “He’s not going to back down when Big Oil’s allies attack his policies. He’s working every day to lower energy costs for Georgians and pass a plan for homegrown clean energy that’ll save families hundreds of dollars each year and protect our communities from the endless cycle of spiking gas prices.”

LCV’s new ad ‘Stop Them’ is a response to right wing attacks on Warnock’s support for clean energy investments that have been repeatedly debunked. The ad is running on TV and digital statewide in Georgia.

The ad is part of LCV and Climate Power’s ongoing multi-million dollar campaign in support of the House-passed $555 billion investments in climate, clean energy and environmental justice. Accelerating the production of cheaper, cleaner energy through clean energy tax credits and other climate investments in the House-passed reconciliation package will save the average household $500 a year on energy bills.

Stop Them
As Vladimir Putin wages war
Oil and gas companies are making billions
Price gouging Americans at the pump
Senator Rafael Warnock is leading the charge to stop them
With a plan that provides relief at the pump
It fast tracks American-made clean energy production
And ends our dependence on hostile dictators and oil profiteers
Now Big Oil is spending big money attacking him
But Senator Warnock won’t back down
Thank him for fighting to lower costs for Georgia families
