WASHINGTON, DC—The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) is proud to have mobilized its members as volunteers for Hillary Clinton through its grassroots program, GreenRoots. To date, GreenRoots has engaged more than 250 LCV members who have completed more than 1,140 shifts, with nearly 370 of those shifts completed during the days leading up to the primaries and caucuses. The GreenRoots program has recruited members in Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, Colorado, and Virginia and has emailed LCV members in nearly every state where primaries and caucuses have occurred to date.
“In states across the country, LCV members are thrilled to volunteer their time to ensure that Hillary becomes our next president,” said LCV Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “We are more excited than ever to be supporting Hillary because her experience, skills, and passion for confronting our many environmental challenges—ranging from the climate crisis to ensuring clean drinking water for all of America’s children—make her the exact right person for the job. We are confident she will hit the ground running on day one in the oval office.”
In January, the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) released a new digital ad in support of Hillary Clinton for president that contrasts Clinton’s leadership on climate change with climate science deniers as exemplified by Donald Trump.
In November, LCV Action Fund endorsed Hillary Clinton for president—its earliest endorsement of a Presidential candidate in the history of the organization and the first endorsement ever made before any votes were cast.
