Lincoln, Nebraska – Please see the following statements in response to today’s decision by the Nebraska Public Service Commission to approve the dirty and dangerous Keystone XL pipeline expansion.

Eliot Bostar, Nebraska League of Conservation Voters Executive Director:

“For the better part of the last decade, Nebraskans have been fighting a battle for the protection of our land and water, and for the livelihoods of the farmers and ranchers in our nation’s heartland. Today’s decision by the Nebraska Public Service Commission puts Nebraska’s families and communities at risk.”

Tiernan Sittenfeld,  League of Conservation Voters SVP for Government Affairs:

“On the heels of a major oil spill in South Dakota from the original Keystone pipeline last week, it’s clearer than ever that the dirty and dangerous Keystone XL pipeline is all risk and no reward and should never be built. We will keep fighting this pipeline and other dirty energy projects across the country.”
