Washington, DC: On a press call with U.S. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey, and Carol M. Browner, Former EPA Administrator, Director of White House Office of Energy and Climate Change Policy and LCV Board Chair, the League of Conservation called out the Trump Administration for its attacks on public health and the environment during the Trump administration’s first 100 days in office.

The League of Conservation Voters also unveiled a new interactive timeline of the breathtaking array of attacks by the Trump administration and the extreme congressional Republican leadership on the air we breathe, the water we drink, the lands we cherish, and so much more. The timeline also highlights key points of resistance to the Trump administration from LCV’s participation in the Women’s March and our “sit-in” in Senator Barrasso’s office to senators holding the Senate Floor overnight in opposition to Scott Pruitt for EPA Administrator and culminating in the massive gathering in Washington, DC and around the country for the Peoples Climate March, which falls on April 29^th, Trump’s 100^th day in office. “We’re going to stand strong, not just to protect recent progress but our bedrock environmental laws,” said Senator Schumer. “Trump’s first 100 days show how much a strong, green Congress is needed more than ever. We’ll be using all the tools we have to fight back in the next 100 days just as we have in the first 100.”

“As the Attorney General for Massachusetts, my message is simple – the environment and science are under assault by the Trump administration, and our state, and states in general, are not going to sit by to let this administration endanger our citizens and jeopardize our planet,” said Attorney General Healey.

“The pace of actions that the administration has engaged in is almost breathtaking. It feels like a day doesn’t go by when there’s not some anti-environmental move from this administration,” said Carol M. Browner. “One of the things that the new EPA Administrator ,Mr. Pruitt, likes to say is ‘the future isn’t what it used to be.’ We agree. I was able to work for two presidents who saw a future that included clean energy and the jobs that come with it, cleaner air, cleaner water, limits on climate changing carbon pollution, and other public health safeguards. Apparently this administration sees a different future—not one that is about clean air, clean water and healthy communities for our families.”
