LCV Launches 2026 Midterm GreenRoots Member Mobilization Field Program

Washington, D.C. — Today, the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) announced this year’s launch of GreenRoots, its member mobilization program. This midterm cycle, GreenRoots is mobilizing LCV’s national membership in support of 30 LCV Action Fund-endorsed candidates in 13 battleground states, including Georgia, Maine, North Carolina, Ohio, and Virginia. 

GreenRoots will organize LCV’s members across the country to get involved in events, volunteer to knock doors, make calls, write letters, and turn out voters in support of pro-environment, pro-democracy candidates in the U.S. Senate and U.S. House. This year, LCV is investing $2 million dollars into GreenRoots, focusing more than ever during a midterm cycle into reaching and turning out young voters through on the ground organizing and a robust digital program.

“We are in a crucial moment — our communities are facing the devastating impacts of the climate crisis while Trump’s MAGA allies in Congress do everything they can to raise prices and roll back protections for people, the planet, and our democracy,” said LCV National Field Director Bill Hairston. “People across the country are paying the cost of Trump’s affordability and energy crises while he schemes to enrich his fossil fuel CEO donors. LCV members are more motivated than ever to turn out voters and elect leaders who will prioritize affordable clean energy, protect our right to free and fair elections, and fight for future generations.”

GreenRoots is the largest coordinated field program in progressive politics and has had a significant impact since it was first launched in 2012. Last cycle, GreenRoots mobilized over 10,000 LCV members who completed over 25,000 volunteer shifts on behalf of LCV Action Fund-endorsed candidates. 

This investment builds upon LCV’s announcement this week launching a new mobilization effort to work alongside campaigns this cycle in battleground states across the country.
