Washington D.C. – More than a month out from election day, LCV Victory Fund, NRDC Action Fund PAC, and NextGen America announced that they have raised more than $14 million for federal and state candidates through GiveGreen, making it one of the largest issue-focused grassroots fundraising platforms in the country.

“We have been thrilled to see the outpouring of enthusiasm from our supporters who are ready to elect pro-environment majorities in Congress and the states,” said Gene Karpinksi, LCV Victory Fund President. “This year is a unique opportunity to elect a new Congress and state leaders who will stand up to the Trump administration’s pro-polluter agenda and take desperately needed action in the fight against climate change. With just over one month to go until election day we are committed to finishing strong and will keep up the pace until the polls close November 6th.”

“A pro-environment majority on Capitol Hill will fight the constant attacks on safe water, clean air and public health that have been the sad hallmark of the Trump administration,” said Rhea Suh, President of the NRDC Action Fund PAC. “That’s why GiveGreen donors are stepping up to support candidates who will stand with the overwhelming majority of American families who want cleaner energy, stronger environmental safeguards and federal action on climate change.”

“The choice has never been plainer than it is this year: we need to elect candidates who will protect our environment, or else we will watch as Republicans continue to push policies that inflict irreversible damage on our planet, solely for the sake of corporate profits,” said Tom Steyer, NextGen America President. “We are deeply grateful to our supporters for joining us in this exceptionally high-stakes electoral fight, and together we look forward to electing leaders willing to defend our shared future on November 6.”

GiveGreen surpassed its previous all-time record in July. During the 2016 election cycle, the program raised or contributed more than $8.4 million for environmental candidates.
