Washington, D.C. — In response to the nomination of Martha Williams as Director of the Fish and U.S. Wildlife Service, the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) issued the following statement from LCV Senior Government Affairs Advocate Benjamin Alexandro

“With over 20 years of experience, Martha Williams would be an excellent Director of the Fish and Wildlife Service. As the former director of Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks and the current Interior Department Principal Deputy Director for USFWS, Martha Williams has a proven track record of building partnerships and support across political divides. Her passion for conservation, public lands, waters, and wildlife will serve the Department of the Interior well.

We hope the Senate will move swiftly to consider her nomination and look forward to hearing more throughout the nomination process about her approach towards protecting our vibrant public lands, vital wildlife populations, and healthy ecosystems for the benefit of all.”
