Natalie James Earns LCV Action Fund Endorsement to Fight for Arkansas Communities in the Senate

Washington D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect pro-environment candidates, announced its endorsement of Natalie James for election to the U.S. Senate representing Arkansas.

“Natalie James is a champion for climate and environmental justice and advocate for every Arkansan’s right to clean water and clean air,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “ James knows that communities must prepare for the impacts of the climate crisis and is committed to centering the needs of environmental justice communities across Arkansas. We are proud to endorse her campaign because we know that Natalie James is the kind of leader we need to grow our clean energy economy and make our climate more resilient in an equitable and just way.”

Natalie James said, “I want to make sure The Natural State remains The Natural State through advocating for environmental justice, honoring our history of public lands, and ensuring everyone has clean water and soil for generations to come.”

About Natalie James

Natalie James was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas. In 2020, the mayor of Little Rock appointed her to the city’s Land Bank Commission, which finds owners for blighted properties to improve them and get them back on the tax rolls, helping revitalize neighborhoods. In 2021, she became the Chair of the Little Rock Branch of the NAACP’s Political Action Committee and helped lead a grassroots lobbying effort during the General Assembly session to end qualified immunity for police officers. James is the first Black Arkansan to win a U.S. Senate nomination and only the third woman to be nominated by a major party for Senate. James is part of WE ACT’s Environmental Justice Leadership Forum and is focused on the rights of every Arkansan to clean air, clean water and soil that can grow things in a sustainable way and conserving and and protecting natural resources across Arkansas.
