LCV was proud to recently present Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) with the 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award. Senator Boxer has been on the frontlines of the fight to protect the environment and our health throughout her decades of service in Congress, earning fifteen perfect 100% scores on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.

Over the course of her career, Senator Boxer has been true champion of the bedrock environmental laws protecting our air, water, land, and wildlife. She has always been willing to call out Big Polluters and their allies for blocking action on climate change and stand up for the EPA’s authority to protect the air we breathe and the water we drink – especially for children. She has also worked tirelessly to protect special places, like the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, wilderness along the California coast, and Lake Tahoe.

We will certainly miss her leadership in Congress, but we look forward to continue working with her to protect our health and the environment for future generations.
