Detroit, MI- Ahead of the second round of Democratic primary debates, the League of Conservation Voters issued the following statement from SVP of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld:
“In more than four hours of debates last month in Miami, just over 15 minutes were spent discussing the climate crisis. Debate moderators and candidates failed to meaningfully address the threat posed by climate change and discuss solutions for a just and equitable clean energy future. Over the next two nights we will be watching for a substantial conversation about how candidates will prioritize climate action starting on day one as president and throughout their time in office. Voters are demanding a serious discussion of the climate crisis, and now is the time for the candidates and the networks to step up.”
