Washington DC- In response to reports that the Trump administration plans to massively cut the Energy Department’s renewable and energy efficiency program, as reported in Axios, the League of Conservation Voters issued the following statement from Legislative Representative Sara Jordan:

“President Trump is again pandering to dirty energy interests by attempting to gut the renewable energy and energy efficiency programs at the Department of Energy. Investing in clean energy creates jobs and boosts our economy. In fact, solar and wind jobs are growing at a rate 12 times as fast as the rest of the US economy. If President Trump was actually committed to creating jobs, he would invest more in clean energy rather than gut these successful programs.”
