WASHINGTON DC — League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld released this statement ahead of the Environment and Economy Subcommittee’s hearing on Representative John Shimkus’ Discussion Draft of the Chemicals in Commerce Act: 

“This draft legislation would take us in the wrong direction. This is a dangerous giveaway to the chemical industry and ignores the growing body of science that links unregulated chemicals to rising health problems, including childhood cancer, neurological diseases, and asthma. It’s long past time to put protecting public health above protecting the profits of the chemical industry.”
