LCV Statement on Hillary’s March 15th Primary Victories

Mar 15, 2016

Washington, D.C. – In response to the results of the March 15th primary contests, LCV President Gene Karpinski issued the following statement:

“Tonight Hillary has racked up more critical victories and many more delegates! We are proud to have supported her win by partnering with Priorities USA Action on direct mail to primary voters in North Carolina and Florida, encouraging people to take advantage of early vote programs. It has been fantastic to watch a campaign focused on issues and solutions, with the need to fight climate change and build a clean energy economy at the top of Hillary’s agenda.

“There is a stark contrast between the substantive conversation on how best to meet the challenge of climate change by both Democratic candidates in their last debate, and how the GOP candidates have doubled-down on climate denialism with willful ignorance of the settled science on climate. As we pointed out in January, there is little in common between Hillary’s smart policies and outspoken leadership and GOP-frontrunner Donald Trump’s reckless policies and crude rhetoric.”
