WASHINGTON, D.C. – In response to the president’s proposal to fully fund the Land and Water Conservation Fund, League of Conservation Voters Land Conservation Fellow Andy French issued the following statement:

“We applaud the Obama administration for continuing to invest in our future and fighting for America’s best parks program. As we celebrate the centennial year of our country’s national parks, we should be looking for ways to celebrate our rich outdoor heritage and continue investing in programs that work, not tear them down. While ideological Republicans in Congress keep fighting to eviscerate the Land and Water Conservation Fund, we call on Congress to join the president and the majority of Americans who want full and mandatory funding for this successful parks program.”
