LCV Statement on the Democratic Senate Energy Bill

Sep 22, 2015

Washington, DC – Today, Senators Maria Cantwell, Ron Wyden, Harry Reid, and 20 of their colleagues unveiled the Democratic Senate Energy Bill.  In response, LCV Vice President of Government Affairs Sara Chieffo issued the following statement:

“We are pleased to see Senate Democratic leadership working hard to tackle the problem of global climate change by reducing dangerous carbon pollution and promoting clean energy. This bill is an important step in shifting away from the dirty technologies of the past and would create millions of well-paying clean energy jobs across America, end taxpayer handouts to big oil, and support technologies to generate clean, renewable electricity. Senators Cantwell, Wyden and Reid are focusing on the conversation we need to be having, and we look forward to working with them on this legislation as we dive further into the details.
