WASHINGTON, D.C. – In response to TransCanada filing a NAFTA lawsuit over the rejection of the Keystone XL pipeline, LCV Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld issued the following statement:

“Even for TransCanada this is beyond the pale.  It’s long past time for them to accept the fact that their dirty and dangerous pipeline will never be built.  Coming on the heels of the historic climate change agreement in Paris and the extension of vital wind and solar tax credits, we are confident this desperate ploy will fail just as others have.  It’s time for them to move on once and for all instead of trying to pad their profits at the taxpayers’ expense.”
