Washington, D.C. — Following the third Democratic presidential debate, the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) issued the following statement from SVP of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld:

“After last week’s promising in-depth discussion about climate solutions in the CNN town hall, tonight’s debate was disappointing. ABC’s moderators spent only eight and a half minutes asking candidates about the climate crisis in nearly three hours of debate. Every candidate on stage tonight has released a comprehensive climate plan and many of them clearly wanted to give the climate crisis more attention than it got tonight. Moreover, voters deserve to hear how the candidates will take action to combat this emergency starting on day one as president. People across the country are demanding a serious discussion of climate solutions, and the candidates are stepping up; it’s time that the debate moderators do the same.”
