Washington D.C. – LCV Victory Fund congratulates Bob Casey on his reelection to the U.S. Senate and Madeleine Dean on winning her campaign to represent Pennsylvania’s 4th congressional district.
“Senator Bob Casey is a an important leader for the environment and public health in Pennsylvania and across the country,” said Gene Karpinski, LCV President. “We look forward to continuing to work with Senator Casey and the entire Pennsylvania delegation to protect our air, water, lands and health.”
Casey’s opponent, Lou Barletta, was named to LCV Victory Fund’s infamous Dirty Dozen because of his dangerous record of siding with corporate polluters over public health and refusing to act on climate change.
LCV’s GreenRoots member mobilization program also turned out voters for both Casey and Dean as part of a nationwide field program that engaged nearly 1,500 volunteers.
Environmental donors contributed nearly $500,000 to Pennsylvania candidates, including over $150,000 to Casey’s campaign via GiveGreen. GiveGreen — a partnership between LCV Victory Fund, NextGen America and the NRDC Action Fund PAC that helps grassroots donors directly contribute to pro-environment candidates — raised a record $21 million for the 2018 cycle.
LCV Action Fund endorsed Casey and Dean because of their support for climate action and preserving Pennsylvania’s clean air and water. LCV Action Fund also endorsed Brendan Boyle, Dwight Evans, Mary Gay Scanlon, Chrissy Houlahan, Susan Wild, Matt Cartwright, George Scott and Ron DiNicola.
