Clean Energy Tax Incentives Can Help You Save Money — and the Planet

Washington, D.C. – Following the passage of the Climate Action Now Act (H.R. 9) in the U.S. House of Representatives last Thursday, the League of Conservation Voters announced $38,000 in digital ads thanking members for their support of the bill to ensure the United States honors its commitments under the Paris Climate Agreement.
“The Climate Action Now Act is an important first step, and we are especially grateful to Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Leader Steny Hoyer, Chairs Kathy Castor (FL-14), Eliot Engel (NY-16), Frank Pallone (NJ-5) and Democrats on the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis for their leadership on the first piece of pro-climate action legislation to pass the House in nearly a decade,” said Tiernan Sittenfeld, LCV Senior Vice President of Government Affairs. “LCV applauds the many newly-elected members who prioritized this important vote for climate action in their first months in office, and we look forward to their next steps to address the greatest challenge of our generation.”
Following action by the House Energy and Commerce and Foreign Affairs Committees in April, LCV launched Facebook ads thanking lead sponsor Kathy Castor, Chair of the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis, House Energy & Commerce Chair Frank Pallone, and House Foreign Affairs Chair Eliot Engel, targeted to constituents in their respective districts.
Last Friday, following the vote by the full U.S. House to pass H.R. 9, LCV launched Facebook ads thanking 24 members of Congress for their support of H.R. 9.
This week, LCV is releasing an online video thanking Speaker Nancy Pelosi for leading the House to address climate change. In addition a previously-released video featuring Democratic members of the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis will run as a digital ad in the districts of first-term Select Committee members Rep. Sean Casten (IL-6), Rep. Mike Levin (CA-49), and Rep. Joe Neguse (CO-2).
In total, the ads thanking House members are in 28 individual districts:
