Last weekend, millions of people gathered to voice their frustrations with the Trump-Musk administration. At more than 1,400 Hands Off! rallies nationwide, people protested the corruption, lawlessness, and predatory politics of the administration, including their attacks on our clean air, clean water, and public lands. The message to President Trump and Elon Musk was clear: Hands off our jobs, hands off our clean air and water, and hands off our democracy!
Pete Maysmith, Incoming LCV President
Protests took place in seven countries around the world and in every state, D.C., Puerto Rico, and American Samoa, as well as every major city. Small cities and towns, including places that had never held a protest before, also joined in. LCV and our state affiliates in the Conservation Voters Movement played a huge role in recruiting people to attend across the country.
LCV members and staff across the country attended rallies and shared photos of the events, including in:
In Washington D.C., the rally featured a stellar lineup of speakers, including D.C. Shadow Representative Oye Olowela, AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler, Congressman Maxwell Frost (FL-10), and LCV’s very own incoming President Pete Maysmith. Read Pete’s full remarks or watch him in action!

Our fundamental and cherished freedoms are currently being threatened in devastating and unimaginable ways. It is up to all of us to raise our voices and let this administration know we won’t stand by while they take away our rights. The millions of people who turned out to protest last weekend are doing just that, but this is just the start.
We must continue to fight to protect people, the planet, and our democracy against the vicious attacks from the Trump administration. To make your voice heard in this fight:
Act Now
Elon Musk, richest man in the world and unelected Trump oligarch, is slashing jobs and cutting funding from one government agency after another. Congress — not the president, and certainly not the unelected Musk — holds the power of the purse. Send a message to your members of Congress urging them to take their power back and stop Trump and Musk from dismantling our democracy and the vital work of the federal government.
Tell Congress Now: Stop Musk
