Trump-aligned Congress pulled the plug on clean energy and climate progress, even as communities faced rising costs of energy and the worsening impacts of climate change. Again and again, the House and Senate slashed environmental protections for, and tried to sell off our public lands to, fossil fuel companies and other polluting corporations. Democrats forced votes on affordable clean energy, the environment, support for our federal agencies and workforce, and voting rights, pushing back on Republicans’ efforts to hand power to President Trump.

House Republican leadership embraced chaos, and their polluter allies and most extreme members, all at the cost of our environment, health, and economic wellbeing. In the House, we scored 12 votes to cut clean energy incentives, 16 votes to strip away protections for our environment, and five to undermine our democracy and racial justice. Democratic Senate leadership kept a brisk judicial confirmation pace, approving over four years a total of 235 federal judges who added expertise and diversity to the bench.
