Washington, DC— In anticipation of the Senate voting on Scott Pruitt’s nomination for EPA Administrator today, LCV President Gene Karpinski issued the following statement:
“Republican leaders are trying to rubber stamp Donald Trump’s EPA pick before the American people can learn the extent of Scott Pruitt’s corruption. What kind of nightmare is our country living in when Republican leaders are jamming through a vote on Scott Pruitt before we can fully vet the extent of his ties to Big Oil? There are clear questions about Scott Pruitt’s fitness to represent the EPA – an agency responsible for protecting the air we breathe and the water we drink. We applaud Democratic Senators for their efforts and join them in calling on the Senate to delay the vote until we have answers.”
