Washington, D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) President Gene Karpinski issued the following statement on the Dakota Access Pipeline and President Obama’s comments on such:

“The League of Conservation Voters continues to stand in solidarity with the Standing Rock Sioux, fully supporting Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Chairman Dave Archambault II’s call on the Obama Administration for a full environmental review of the Dakota Access Pipeline. No community should have to jeopardize their access to clean water, sacrifice their beliefs or their places of cultural and spiritual importance. We have confidence in this administration and ask that President Obama continue to build on his legacy by calling on the Army Corps of Engineers to issue a stop work order while a full environmental review is completed.”
