Senator John Hickenlooper (D-CO) sponsored an amendment to S.Con.Res. 7, the FY25 Senate Budget Resolution, to block any legislation, including this resolution, that would raise energy prices for Americans. Families already face significantly increasing energy costs and energy demand is estimated to increase – over 16% in the next five years- further driving up energy bills. Over their lifespans, solar and wind energy and transmission investments represent the best options to reduce energy costs, and are cleaner than burning oil, gas, and coal. This amendment would ensure that we continue making investments in a clean and affordable energy future. On February 20, the Senate rejected the Hickenlooper amendment by a vote of 47-53 (Senate roll call vote 67). YES IS THE PRO-ENVIRONMENT VOTE.

President Trump has called climate change a hoax and has shown that he’s willing to undo our movement’s progress addressing the climate crisis, along with access to clean air and water. Make your voice heard: sign the petition telling Congress to stand strong and protect hard-won climate and environmental protections.
