Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) sponsored S.J.Res. 76, a Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolution of disapproval, which would invalidate the EPA’s rule to unlawfully delay compliance deadlines for the oil and gas industry to cut dangerous methane pollution as required by the 2024 EPA Methane Rule. Delaying compliance deadlines for the oil and gas industry means pumping more cancer-causing pollution into frontline communities, worsening climate change and extreme weather, and wasting the natural resources that could be used to power our cities and heat our homes. On November 19, the Senate rejected a motion to proceed on S.J.Res. 76 by a vote of 46-51 (Senate roll call vote 622). YES IS THE PRO-ENVIRONMENT VOTE.
