Senator Padilla (D-CA) sponsored an amendment to H.Con.Res. 14, the Senate Budget Resolution, to reiterate the importance of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and its continued role in providing nonpartisan, long-term relief to disaster survivors. FEMA is a critical resource for communities to immediately respond to disasters and build their resilience to future severe weather events. As climate change continues to increase the frequency and exacerbate the impacts of these events across the country, the fiscally responsible decision is to support recovery and resilience investments to protect communities. On April 4, the Senate rejected S.Amdt. 1774 by a vote of 48-51. YES IS THE PRO-ENVIRONMENT VOTE.
