Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) sponsored an amendment (S.Amdt. 999) to S.Con.Res. 7, the FY25 Senate Budget Resolution, which would force Congress to make even deeper cuts to critical programs than were proposed by the Senate Republican Budget Resolution, in areas overseeing conservation and nutrition programs, Social Security, Medicaid, clean water and air protections, and more. The Trump administration is unconstitutionally freezing already-appropriated funding and considering further cuts to staffing and critical programs, and this amendment would codify some of these extreme cuts and other efforts to hobble programs that safeguard our air and water, protect children’s health, and drive down costs for families. On February 21, the Senate rejected the Paul amendment by a vote of 24-76 (Senate roll call vote 77). NO IS THE PRO-ENVIRONMENT VOTE.

Tell Congress: Stop the Musk Takeover

Elon Musk, richest man in the world and unelected Trump oligarch, is slashing jobs and cutting funding from one government agency after another. Congress — not the president, and certainly not the unelected Musk — holds the power of the purse. Send a message to your members of Congress urging them to take their power back and stop Trump and Musk from dismantling our democracy and the vital work of the federal government.
