Senators Tim Kaine (D-VA) and Martin Heinrich (D-NM) sponsored S.J.Res. 10, a joint resolution terminating the national emergency declared with respect to energy. This privileged resolution would end President Donald Trump’s energy emergency declaration, which would undermine American jobs, drive up costs, erode U.S. economic competitiveness, take away clean energy choices, and harm the environment. Currently, the U.S. is the largest producer and exporter of oil and gas, and we are on a path to producing more affordable and accessible clean energy than ever before, creating hundreds of thousands of jobs across the country. The energy emergency declaration is a thinly-veiled attempt to ban cleaner and cheaper forms of energy and gut environmental protections in order to further enrich big oil and gas executives at the expense of our communities and clean air and water. On  February 26, the Senate rejected S.J.Res. 10 by a vote of 47-52 (Senate roll call vote 95). YES IS THE PRO-ENVIRONMENT VOTE.

Tell Congress: Stand Strong for Climate

With a new anti-environment President and congressional leadership, climate solutions are under attack. President Trump has called climate change a hoax and has shown that he’s willing to undo our movement’s progress addressing the climate crisis, along with access to clean air and water. Make your voice heard: sign the petition telling Congress to stand strong and protect hard-won climate and environmental protections.
