Representative Andy Biggs (R-AZ) proposed an amendment to H.R. 6147, the Department of the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2019, which would undermine the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) by diverting its funding to the parks maintenance backlog. The amendment is a false choice between addressing LWCF and addressing parks maintenance, even though the two can work together to benefit our public lands. On July 18, the House rejected Rep. Biggs’ amendment by a roll call vote of 172-237 (House roll call vote 341). NO IS THE PRO-ENVIRONMENT VOTE.
