Representative Scott Perry (R-PA) sponsored an amendment to H.R. 4553, the Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriations Act for FY26, which would eliminate all funding for the Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). The office plays a key role in advancing clean energy technologies, improving energy efficiency, and supporting job creation in the renewables sector. On September 4, the House rejected the Perry amendment by a vote of 127-297 (House roll call vote 236). NO IS THE PRO-ENVIRONMENT VOTE.
