Representative Morgan Griffith (R-VA) offered an amendment to H.R. 5055, the Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2017, which would reduce funding for the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) programs by $50 million and transfer that amount to Fossil Energy Research and Development. On May 25, the House rejected the Griffith amendment by a vote of 182- 236 (House roll call vote 243). NO IS THE PRO-ENVIRONMENT VOTE.
