Representative Jared Huffman (D-CA) offered an amendment to H.R. 5538, the Interior, Environment and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2017, which would strike a provision in the bill that would delay implementation of the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management’s recently proposed rule to cut air pollution from offshore drilling sources. This rule is the first update to air quality standards for offshore drilling in more than 30 years. On July 12, the House rejected the Huffman amendment by a vote of 181-244 (House roll call vote 424). YES IS THE PRO-ENVIRONMENT VOTE.
