Representative Scott Perry (R-PA) offered an amendment to H.R. 5538, the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2017, which would reduce funding to the EPA by 17%. The underlying bill already cut $164 million from last year’s EPA funding level, and other amendments added to the bill on the floor slashed funding by millions more to an agency charged with protecting public health by ensuring we have clean air, drinkable water, and healthy lands. On July 13th, the House rejected the Perry amendment by a vote of 188-239 (House roll call vote 456). NO IS THE PRO-ENVIRONMENT VOTE.
