Representative Lauren Boebert (R-CO) sponsored this amendment to H.R. 1, to express disapproval of the denial of the Jordan Cove Project permits– a proposed liquefied natural gas export terminal in the Port of Coos Bay, Oregon by Calgary-based energy company Pembina. Oregon rejected its permit applications because this LNG export terminal and fracked gas pipeline project would harm water quality, risk the health and safety of frontline communities, worsen climate change, and undermine landowner rights. On March 29, 2023, the House approved Rep. Boebert’s amendment to H.R. 1 by a vote of 221-208 (House roll call vote 167). NO IS THE PRO-ENVIRONMENT VOTE.
